Recycling in the factory

How much of this is recyclable?

This is a typical skip normally destined for disposal to landfill. We can process most of this for recycling, thus avoiding any landfill taxes.

We process all mixed dry waste for recycling including cardboard, plastics, papers, packaging, polythene, scrap metal and wooden pallets.

No segregation is required, thus saving you labour and equipment costs. This service is suitable for locations with limited access or space restrictions.

How does this service work?

We provide you with skips or FEL (Front End Loader) containers to be sited at your premises. We uplift your waste and recycle it, it's that simple.

All your waste is processed at our MRF Materials Recycling Facility into separate waste streams.

At the end of the process you're supplied with a Recycling Certificate as proof of your commitment to the environment.

What if we have alot of cardboard?

For large quantities of cardboard we can provide open top skips and it doesn't matter if the contents become wet. For volume users we can supply a compactor or baler.

We can also uplift pallets or bales of cardboard for recycling with our tail-lift vans and artic trailers.

What if we have alot of plastic?

Certain grades are suitable for recycling, and at Hannay we can take care of most of it.

We operate a sophisticated process to recycle different types and grades of rigid plastic including plastic pipes, trays, crates, boxes and bottles.

We granulate into clean regrind for re-introduction in the manufacturing supply chain.

We also recycle waste polyethylene film, bottles and other plastic packaging.

We can use our experience not only to reduce your disposal costs but possibly even identify a revenue generating opportunity for your waste plastic.

What recycling do you provide for printers?

We have considerable experience with the printing industry and this is reflected in our range of specialist equipment. We provide robust plastic cages for all printer's waste paper. These are designed to fit under the guillotine and are simply swapped over when full.

For larger sites we can supply a compactor system whereas for smaller printer's waste paper we offer heavy duty recycling bags. For high value confidential waste (cheques/vouchers/labels) we can provide our specially designed security cages. These steel lidded containers are fully enclosed and lockable for maximum security.

Is waste management necessary?

Businesses now face an unprecedented number of waste regulations and may be liable for any damage to the environment that may occur in the future.

Against this background many companies have introduced their own systems and procedures to ensure the safe handling and disposal of their waste.

The introduction of EWC Environmental Waste Codes, with 6-digit codes, new Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005 and continuing improvements in the waste industry have prompted many customers to use our Waste Management Services for compliance and absolute peace of mind.
