WOOD, METAL

Wood, Metal & Glass
Wood
As a guide we will collect nearly all soft and hardwood materials
including pallets and crates. Nails and screws are acceptable.
The following materials are unsuitable for recycling:
MDF (medium density fibre board), laminated material, railway sleepers
and chipboard.
Our wide range of skip containers are perfect for wood waste. In
preference to dumping this good recyclable waste into general
waste skips, thus incurring a high disposal cost, we provide a separate
skip container dedicated to wood waste recycling - you pay no landfill
taxes.
We can also supply trailers or tail-lift curtain-sided vehicles for easy and
safe uplifts of smaller quantities of wood, for example up to 50 wooden
pallets. This is generally far cheaper than hiring a skip container.
Metal
Our recycling services include metal waste streams (scrap metal).
As a guide we will collect nearly all mixed metals for recycling including steel
shelving, metal racks, cables and sundry items like filing cabinets and chairs.
Instead of just dumping this good recyclable waste into a general
waste skip, and incur a high disposal cost, we can provide a separate
skip container dedicated for metal waste recycling thus avoiding
landfill taxes. Our wide range of skip containers are perfect for
this purpose.
Glass
To recycle glass waste streams we provide a range of user friendly services to
our clients, from glass recycling bins for hotel chains to trailers for pallets
of obsolete stock for distilleries.
Glass can be readily segregated and since the glass recycling market
is well developed, our particular expertise in this area is the
ability to identify the best and safest method for handling and
collecting it.
As glass is particularly heavy it is essential that the most appropriate
and cost-effective systems are in place. In addition the risk and
obvious health and safety concerns over broken glass must be clearly
addressed.
Most people are aware that glass can be recycled countless times, however colour
purity is vital. Mixed glass is now being processed for newer alternative uses
including grit blasting, in road surfaces and in water filtration. In each case
these are far better and cheaper alternatives than disposal to landfill.
